Chairs & Makers – Comfort of being

Chairs & Makers is a craft and design exhibition by furniture designer and interior architect Timo Mikkonen, bringing together the finest expertise in Finnish design and craftsmanship at Hotelli Torby in Fiskars from 27 June to 30 July 2026.

The exhibition theme, Comfort of Being, explores comfort through the form of the armchair, highlighting the skill and traditions of Finnish master craftspeople and their contemporary, high-quality execution.

The chairs featured in the exhibition were crafted by master cabinetmakers Heikki Aska and Tommi Alatalo, together with upholstery professionals Jari Salo and Tuija Santti from Adea Oy. Other key collaborators in the project include Adea Oy, the Finnish Furniture Foundation, Onoma, Fiskars Biennale, and Hotel Torby.
